Welcome to Double Loop!

     My Name is Richard Wells and I have been in the windsurfing field for over ten years. I first started windsurfing back when booms were tied on with bit of string, dagger boards were pulled out and slung on your shoulder! This should give you some idea of how long.

      I was lucky enough to move to Hong Kong back in the 80’s and did most of my growing up here. I was introduced to some sail makers who at that time were working with Gaastra and Art developing the cut away sail idea. Something that all sails incorporate today (top of sail opening up when over-powering).

     I was also introduced to Alex Mowday who was involved in boom manufacturing. He later worked with N/P and others to develop and improve the clamp boom head plus many other bits that really made windsurfing easy to try. Some time later he moved to Taiwan to set up a factory there. Soon after he started the Asian Windsurfing Tour Penghu (Taiwan) stop, where you will find some of the best wind ever on the Asian tour.  (50+knots) of wind.

     It was about that time I was introduced to Naish sail and Kite designer Don Montague who helped me to become the

Naish Importer and dealer here in Hong Kong.

     Hong Kong, at that time, only had two small shops selling very limited product which really did not cover what I would consider the best  windsurfing equipment . The service was weak and they rarely sailed!

     So I opened Double loop. We are situated on the south side of Hong Kong island not more than 15 minutes from the sailing spots. If it’s windy, you can be sure one of us will be on the

water.

     Over the past 5 years I have included what I consider to be some of the best brands in the industry .

Naish, Drops, Power Ex, HPL Booms, Pro-limit, Select,

Exocet.

     I believe to sell a product you have to have use it and know all about it! At Double Loop we pride ourselves in knowing our products fully. Service First! Give the customer what they want not the old stock you need to clear, that’s our motto.

     I did not open this store to become rich although that would be nice. I opened it because windsurfing is something I love.
